#BookishWISHES with The Darkest Part of the Forest

To celebrate the upcoming release of The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black, we were asked to come up with some ideas for a tag called #BookishWISHES

‘IN THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR’

We were given examples of what we could do, but it all came down to what we wanted. Our bookish wishes. Some of the examples included :

. The book you wish you had written
. A book you wish an author would write
. An author you'd like to meet

Some people have two #bookishWISHES for this year, but I only have one. My wish is to hopefully write a Non-Fiction/Self-help book directed at teenagers based on Depression and Suicide. There are books out there, but none of them are directed at teenagers, for teenagers. I think it's important to get the message out there in a way that isn't so mumble jumble. I want it to be straight to the point, but also very simple.

FAIRY GOD MOTHER HAS.....ARRIVED!

I, the team at Indigo Publishers and Holly Black are passing on the magic to one of you readers. The Darkest Part of the Forest

Children can have a cruel, absolute sense of justice. Children can kill a monster and feel quite proud of themselves. A girl can look at her brother and believe they’re destined to be a knight and a bard who battle evil. She can believe she’s found the thing she’s been made for.

Hazel lives with her brother, Ben, in the strange town of Fairfold where humans and fae exist side by side. The faeries’ seemingly harmless magic attracts tourists, but Hazel knows how dangerous they can be, and she knows how to stop them. Or she did, once. At the centre of it all, there is a glass coffin in the woods. It rests right on the ground and in it sleeps a boy with horns on his head and ears as pointy as knives. Hazel and Ben were both in love with him as children. The boy has slept there for generations, never waking.
Until one day, he does… As the world turns upside down and a hero is needed to save them all, Hazel tries to remember her years spent pretending to be a knight. But swept up in new love, shifting loyalties, and the fresh sting of betrayal, will it be enough?
THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST by Holly Black will be published by Indigo on 5 February 2015 9781780621739/ Hardback at £10.99 and ebook at £5.99
